Alright, I feel it's time you all know this about me.

I have Dissociative Identity Disorder. There are 3 personalities I have: Josh, Vlad, and V. My therapist and I have a theory about why they came into existance, and how they came to exist in me as personalities.

Growing up, in grade school, I didn't have many friends. The ones I had were all 17 and 18 and preparing for college. They would always leave me, and I developed abandonment issues. In those issues, I created 2 imaginary friends that were so vivid to me that they seemed real. Those were Vlad and V, though they didn't really have names until recently.

They became personalities... when I got molested at the age of 11. Yeah, I know, hard to imagine right? It was by a family friend, who also was 20 at the time. No, I don't remember his name. Because I don't want to remember him at all. But, when that happened, the trauma of it was almost to much for me to stand, and somehow, Vlad and V "dissappeared" but I started having vivid dreams and black outs. People informed me that they had talked to me during my blackouts, and when I looked in the mirror, I would see more than one of me, and both of them I could tell weren't me. When I went to my therapist, he said, "Whenever we face something we don't think we can handle, our mind creates something that can, in this case someone. Well, 2 someones really." He taught me how to make us communicate, and the blackouts stopped. I opted out of meds for this because it was a small, non-lethal case.

So, now you know. Please, don't treat me any different with this knowledge. I'm not a freak, and this is not hugely a problem. I just felt you needed to know.
